Regional Theatre credits include : Will Parker in Oklahoma! at the Liverpool Playhouse; Scotty in Merrily We Roll Along at the Haymarket, Leicester; Parsloe in The Card, Watermill Theatre, Newbury; the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, Theatr Clwyd and Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Civic Theatre, Chelmsford. Concert work includes : Bridewell 10th Anniversary Concerts; The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber (Prince Edward Theatre); the European première of Ragtime (St David's Hall, Cardiff); a series of Bernstein/Gershwin concerts in Germany and Slovenia, and the 10th Anniversary concert of Les Misérables at the Royal Albert Hall. Recordings include : the British cast recordings of Stephen Sondheim's Passion and Merrily We Roll Along; the cast album of Children of Eden; and the International recording of Les Misérables 10th Anniversary Concert.
Matthew was also Associate Director for the RNT's production of Carousel in Tokyo with an all-Japanese cast. Other productions include David Copperfield, Hot Mikado and Orpheus, for which he wrote the lyrics and script.

Matthew is currently directing the Alan Menken/Howard Ashman show Little Shop of Horrors which has transferred to the West End's Duke of York theatre following a sell-out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory. The show stars Sheridan Smith, Paul Keating, Alistair McGowan, Barry James and Mike McShane and is booking till September 1. Matthew White's delirious production.....When productions are this good, everything slots into place.....Little Shop is a winner in every department. PREVIOUSLY :
Towards the end of 2004, Matthew took part in a workshop production of a new musical written by Yusuf Islam (aka Cat Stevens) titled Moonshadow after his 1971 hit record. Others taking part included West End stars Lyn Paul, Paul Keating, Ramin Karimloo and Jérome Prâdon. Matthew also appeared in the Bridewell Theatre 10TH Anniversary Farewell Concerts in December 2005.
